How I Work

A trauma-informed, integrative and embodied approach

Artwork by Karen Haffey

My work is grounded in the belief that meaningful change happens through compassionate relationship, curiosity and connection with ourselves. I draw from counselling foundations, trauma-informed care, somatic awareness and expressive arts practices to support exploration, healing and growth.

How I Work

CREATIVE & EXPRESSIVE ARTS

Using creativity, imagination, movement and symbolism as pathways for expression, insight and integration.

SOMATIC AWARENESS

Exploring the relationship between body sensations, emotions, patterns and lived experience — supporting greater awareness, regulation and choice.

TRAUMA-INFORMED PRACTICE

Holding space with compassion, curiosity and attention to safety, pacing and the ways our experiences shape how we move through the world.

THERAPEUTIC RELATIONSHIP

Creating a collaborative space where your story is heard, your strengths are honoured and we work together toward what matters most to you.

CONTEXT & CONNECTION

Exploring the relationship between personal experiences and the larger social, cultural and relational worlds we live within. We consider not only “what is happening within us,” but also what has shaped us.

Creative practice can meet people in different ways depending on their needs, intentions and stage of exploration

For some, expressive arts are part of a therapeutic process held within a regulated therapeutic relationship. For others, creativity, movement and embodiment become pathways for learning, connection and artistic exploration outside of therapy.

The same creative languages may be woven through each offering, while the intention, structure and environment shift.
