I am a somatically oriented, expressive arts therapist whose work is grounded in movement, creativity and embodied experience. I support people who feel disconnected from themselves, caught in recurring patterns or struggling to access their emotions, creativity or sense of purpose. My approach is informed by the understanding that mental health involves the whole person, not just the mind, and that the mind exists within the larger ecosystem of a multidimensional human being shaped by biological, social, emotional and spiritual experience.

My practice is rooted in a lifelong career in professional dance. I danced with The National Ballet of Canada, Ballet British Columbia and Kevin O’Day Ballett Nationaltheater Mannheim. Personal highlights onstage include performing works by James Kudelka, William Forsythe, Johan Inger, Crystal Pite, Medhi Walerski, Aszure Barton, Kevin O’Day, Dominique Dumais, Jorma Elo, Jacapo Godani, Jose Navas, John Alleyne, Emily Molnar, Twyla Tharp and Donald Sales. It was an honour to contribute, through dance, to the Opening Ceremonies of the 2010 Vancouver Olympic Winter Games.

While dancing for Ballet BC, I collaborated on a solo project with Margie Gillis called “Moon on White Crow,” presented at several venues throughout Vancouver and later performed at the National Arts Centre during the Governor General’s Awards, in recognition of Margie’s lifetime of achievement. I was also chosen to participate in a project dedicated to the preservation of her legacy.

Alongside my artistic career, I have pursued extensive training in embodied and therapeutic practices. I am a certified Kripalu Yoga instructor and member of the Toronto Axis Syllabus community, and a graduate of the Tamalpa Institute’s body-based expressive arts training. I completed my Master’s in Expressive Arts Therapy with a minor in psychology at the European Graduate School in Switzerland, receiving the honours with distinction award. I have completed training in trauma-focused care with Dr. Gabor Maté and completed my training in Social Service Work at George Brown Polytechnic. I will soon be a registered member in good standing with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (OCSWSSW).

I am also a graduate of the teacher training program for professional dancers at Canada’s National Ballet School, and I continue to bring this embodied, movement-informed perspective into my therapeutic work. I offer a collaborative and creative approach that integrates talk therapy with embodied and expressive arts-based practices, supporting people in reconnecting with themselves and what matters most to them.

Great art can flourish where human beings are cherished. The appropriate outcome will emerge from a positive and affirming journey together.
